Jumping on the all-natural beauty regime bandwagon, my bestfriend Atie has been experimenting with all natural products on her skin and swears that this facial mask makes a difference. The best part is all three natural ingredients you’ll probably already have in your kitchen; rice flour, turmeric and yogurt. I’ve attempted this myself several times, and the after effect is pretty amazing!
Rice flour helps increase skin collagen and natural cellular turnover. Used regularly, rice flour can clears the skin of fine lines. Also, rice flour gives you a paste-like consistency that makes the mask thick enough to be lathered on your skin.
Turmeric is known to be a good treatment of acne blemishes, blackheads, dark spots and hyper-pigmentation and other skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. It helps heal and prevent dry skin, and to slow the skin aging process, and is used to diminish wrinkles, keep skin supple and improve skin’s elasticity. Also, when applied on pimples (the painful, red ones) it helps reduce it.
Yogurt has natural probiotic properties that works on the cells of the skin to rejuvenate and peel away years of sun damage and other damage to the skin. If you have extremely dry skin, add some honey in the yogurt. The honey will provide the extra moisture that your skin needs.
- Mix 2 tablespoons of rice flour, 1 teaspoon turmeric, & 2 tablespoons of yogurt. If you want, add 1 teaspoon of honey as well.
- Make sure you mix it well and avoid clumps.I used a fork to make sure there weren’t any clumps.
- Add a little bit of water, not too much as you want it thick and easy to apply on your face.
- I usually keep it on until it dries and cracks off my face (20-30 minutes) & you can do this two or three times a week.
Reckon fresh turmeric juice is a good go too, they have a lovely fragrance and have the same properties of the powder. Another mixer can rose water, cools & calms the skin 🙂 Then it becomes an organic vegan mask 😉
Thanks for letting me know hun! Will give it a try for sure 🙂
