When Bollywood is mentioned the first thing that comes to mind is bold, vibrant colours, synchronized dancing and gorgeous ladies donned in beautiful clothes. The one thing these ladies have in common; fantastic hair & flawless make-up!
When a new brand Bollywood inspired brand hit Muse by Watson, I was stoked to see what they had in store. The line called Bollywood Professional brings in movie-star worthy makeup, with all the glits and glamours at your own convenience, no pro makeup artist needed.
Muse by Watsons was swarmed with butterfly bloggers, fluttering from one station to the next to get their makeup done by the Bollywood Professional team. We had the opportunity to discuss colour palletes and products that suited our skin best.
The founder of Bollywood Professional, Rani Birring was also present, giving us little tips and answers all our inquiries about the brand.
As I was playing around with the testers, there were products that suited all skin tones which is a definite plus point on my end. It’s not easy to find afforable brands that suit dark skin, so Bollywood Professional is definitely on my lists of “must check out for dark skinned girls”.
I had already done my skin prior to the event, but I did get my lip game on using Bollywood Professional’s Liquid Lipstick in a bright shade of coral. Most people wouldn’t recommend such bright tones for dark skin, but its in my nature to try every colour I’m drawn to & successfully managed to pull this tone of.
The Liquid Lipstick is a creamy textured non-sticky almost gloss like lipstick. It has intense pigment which is perfect for people like me with darker lips. It took several swipes to get on for full coverage, but is long lasting. I also love that it has a hydrating effect which is great for dry lips. It serves as a moisturizer for your lips.
I also had the opportunity to mingle and flutter along with these lovely butterflies, making new friends and sharing input on the products.
A huge shout out the Mamasan, Tammy Lim the founder of The Butterfly Project for her continuous effort of getting all of us involved and participating in these events. So much respect and love for her.
Since the theme was modern Bollywood glamour, I opted for a gold top I got at a bazaar at an absolute steal of RM5, harem pants I sewed for my final project during fashion school, a whole load of gold bangles and the show stopper….
The Shappy tattoos that I cut up and deconstructed to make my own mehendi inspired design. Blog post on this coming up soon!
