As life gets the best of me because I’m making the best of it, I’m neglected this space and I apologise; running my own empire at my own terms has proven to be a bigger challenge than I thought it would be and the perfectionist in me won’t rest until I’m where I want to be. Where that is, I’m not even quite sure yet, all I know is I’ll get there and when I do I’ll know it.

With so many blessings headed my way, there’s been some downfalls which lead to some dancing in the rain awaiting the rainbow to appear. You know I love my rainbows 🙂

Signing in to send some love, light & good vibes your way. I’ll make it a personal goal to update as much as possible; there’s a pending list of 50+ topics I need to write about. I’ll get to it & hopefully you’ll love it.

Guess who’s back , back again,

Vasa Black – Sudio Sweden Headphones Review

I can’t think of a single person who’d say that they don’t love music. It’s something that is embedded and bred without having to learn it. I’ll be the first to admit that I happen to be tone deaf (but in my head sound like Beyonce) but it doesn’t really matter because of how it makes you feel. I’m all about the good feeling!

Always on the go means my music is too! The thing is, I’ve invested in over 6 earphones, all of which have failed me. Then I found Sudio.

Who knew you could fall in love with a pair of earphones? I know I did! *insert smiley with heart eyes here*Screen Shot 2015-11-05 at 1.10.36 AM

This sleek and sexy design of the Vasa black with its gorgeous champagne gold detailing really caught my eye & to be honest, looks better in real than in the pictures.

Not only does it look oh-so good, the sound quality is fantastic. Perfect for when I’m out and wanting to listen to music or take a break and watch movies whilst working. I love that it’s compatible with my Apple products too!

But here’s the good news for you (yes you reading this!)- Use the discount code: “deeperthanfashion“, and enjoy 15% off through the Sudio website till the end of November! Also, it’s free shipping to Malaysia! 🙂

You can thank me later 😉

1009981_10151979168102058_1751773297_nIt’s been a long time coming, but I finally decided to pull the plug. The plug to my 9-6 job that is. I decided to leave my job for my art & the journey ahead seems scary but so promising. If I were to be completely honest, I always knew this day would come. I wish it had come sooner, but then again, I live with no regrets but lessons learnt.

I’ve been running Deeper Than Fashion for almost five years now, quite successfully I might add. Most people didn’t even know I worked a 9-6 job because I managed to handle the work load from both jobs. Then I thought to myself, if I managed to create so much with limited time in my hands, image all the possibilities of what I could do with more time? I could then focus on unleashing all my creative juices and have the freedom to chase the things that make me happiest.

A flashback to when I was on a job hunt and I sent in my resume to a well-known and respected media through a friend, only to have been turned down because & I quote “My editor think you aren’t someone who is meant to sit at a desk and work, you will just stifle your creativity. You need to explore!”. He had no idea how right he was, and I will forever be thankful someone said that to me to further clarify what I already knew.

It took a lot of convincing for the people around me to finally accept I was not molded the way they were, especially when it came to things like financial stability. As much as I’m a dreamer, I’m very much a realist too & I won’t pretend money isn’t a factor. It always is but it’s never been one that played a key role in my life. If I wanted something, I would just need to work harder for it. I wanted happiness and to just breathe.

Being given the freedom to be my own boss also gives me a chance to create and fulfill my own destiny. I’m taking this leap away from the conventional work force, to focus on creating a work force that is truly my own. Here’s a perfect time for me to prove to myself that I am capable of making my dreams come true.

I’m truly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had in the past & to be able to create my own future opportunities. The Universe has been kind, and I am thankful for all the blessings. Mostly I am thankful to YOU for being a support system, motivation and constant inspiration!

Here’s to me embarking in a brand new adventure. Much love & light to everyone.

It’s new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life,
& I’m feeling good,

“Inspired by all things Indian, Chammak is a fun and quirky online store that will bring happiness to your doorstep!”. This is how Chammak KL describes their brand, and quite rightfully so! Mixing different types of Indian cultures and styles is what makes this brand something I absolutely love!

Having stumbled upon them on Instagram, it was my good fortune that I found a brand who’s owner Jesheila, believed in many similar things as I personally do. Especially when it comes to blending traditions and culture and making it relevant with today’s fashion trends.

I ended up purchasing quite a few items from them & here are the reviews of each item separately;

Photo 3-25-15, 8 20 54 PMPhoto 4-17-15, 10 40 15 AMYellow Skirt. When I saw this, I fell in love and had to have it! Yellow like sunshine, flowy and gorgeous embroidery work done; It fit me perfectly! However it was sheer so it had to be worn with an inner skirt or leggings. Not much of a fan of layering my bottom wear, so personally not really what I had expected.

Alternatively, sewing inner lining would be an option as well which was suggested when I spoke to Jesheila about it being sheer. Great customer service and efficient replies, I love it when a business owner knows the importance of these things.

Photo 3-25-15, 4 04 39 PMPhoto 4-17-15, 10 39 38 AMMetal Stone Clutch. I have an intense love for crystals and all things with intricate detailing, this was a must-have in my books! It is fairly small but enough for me to fit my phone, some loose change, ID, lipstick and a pack of tissue! Perfect for a special occasion or for people who don’t carry a million things in their bags (like I do!).

Gold Handchain. Making accessories & collecting them as well have always been a passion of mine. This is one piece I absolutely am glad I have in my collection! This hand chain screams boho-chic when paired with my day-to-day wear but manages to beautifully transform itself into Indian goddess jewelry when I wear it with sarees. Photo 4-30-15, 8 26 21 PMPhoto 4-30-15, 8 15 44 PMColourful Clutch. This is probably my most favourite piece I own! Clutches are very much my thing and this particular one doubles as a handbag as well (there’s an attached string inside). Let’s take a second here to bask in the beautiful colours and textures of this piece! Intricate thread work with mirror details and to top it off, colourful tassel pom-poms for an added ethnic vibe.

The best part about Chammak is that most of their products can be worn with daily wear to achieve the boho-chic look but also transforms and works equally as well with traditional outfits such as sarees. I can’t help but fall in love with the look, feel and honesty of this brand. I’m pretty sure you will too!

Excuse me as a wave of nostalgia hits me, but I managed to restock the materials to remake the first ever Tribal Dreamcatcher necklaces I’ve ever made 4 years ago.

How time flies! :’)

IMG_20141031_001850There’s a constant struggle to find a balance, without having time to even focus on finding the balance without it affecting my bank balance; I get lost sometimes.

Always thankful for the light that helps me find my way.

My staple must wear jewelry for year 2014 was my armcandy of rudrakshas, Buddhas, hamsa hands, crystals and beads.

I collect stones, charms and beads from my travels and turn them into memories I can wear/carry with me on a daily. Constantly being asked if I sell them, I finally decided to do it;IMG_20150107_085708IMG_20150106_100418The response has been amazing & I can’t wait to explore all the options I can with the materials and styles I can come up with.

Calm like Buddha,
