As much as I love to create magic, I like finding pieces of magic or as I’d like to call them my ‘travel treasures’ to share on Deeper Than Fashion. These elephant treasures were definitely a crowd favourite;
Double Elephant Bracelets &;
Ele Hug rings. How cute are these elephant rings that wrap around your finger, giving it a little hug?! 🙂
I also managed to find pieces that I can infuse into my own creations. Like this cameo Ganesha;Â & of course, no post is complete without my customised Ganesha dreamcatchers. These have been a constant hit and the orders for these haven’t slowed down one bit;
Sometimes I get orders without a price limit & I can let my creativity fully take over. Like I did with this gold Ganesha piece;Â
The blessings keep coming in abundance & I’d like to take a moment to thank the Universe for all it’s blessings.

Having done over hundred of dreamcatchers, there are always themes that seem to make me want to recreate them in a different way. Here was a previous Yin & Yang design I worked on.
The concept was fairly simple, but I handpainted the feathers to look like the beautiful symbol;It’s been long overdue & this design has been swimming around in my head for awhile now, I finally took the time to create it. My revamped Yin & Yang dreamcatcher;Â
The Yin & Yang is an ancient symbol of balance and harmony. I used two healing crystal beads for this design. A moonstone and a labradorite (both my favourites!).
The moonstone enhances intuition. promotes inspiration, brings success in love and business & the labradorite is known to enhance strength of will and helps assist when faced with changes as well as challenges.
Can’t wait to start using more healing crystals and gemstones in my work. I love how it has more meaning and purpose behind it than it being just wearable art.

My weekends are reserved mostly for updating this website, working on accessories, taking pictures of them and having to cue them for sales the following week. Running your own business and being a perfectionist means having do everything yourself from scratch. As much as it’s tiring, I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way 🙂
That also means limited time to go out to get my hair done. I was beyond thrilled when Supermodels Secrets stocked up on Manic Panic semi-permanent hair dye. Before getting my hair coloured, I read up many articles on hair dyes and most sites recommend Manic Panic. This was a perfect opportunity for me to try it out;
Staying true to my mermaid self, I opted for turquoise & purple yet again. But this time, I was going to do it myself. The end result, was fairly impressive (if I do say so myself);
I previously had it bleached professionally and the tedious part about coloured hair is that it fades really quick. So glad I now have these jars of Manic Panic hair dye to last me quite awhile. It’s quite messy to do on my own, but I’ll manage 🙂 Gloves, an old towel and a t-shirt you don’t mind messing up are essential.
Of course along with the Manic Panic hair dye, I was tempted to buy other beauty and makeup products as well. This time around I got makeup palettes (my old one broke) and a set of brushes. I had to have these once I saw them because I constantly need to come up with new makeup ideas and creative makeup for shoots, even if its something as simple as taking pictures of myself in the accessories I need to upload for sale. Yes, I’m my own brand model and makeup artist as well 😉 Jane of all trades, is I!
This week I worked on a simple mermaid inspired look for the intricate coral necklaces I had in store. The pigments from the eyeshadow was amazing once I applied two layers (one was too light on my skin!), however it lasted really long. The brushes were super soft and gentle on my skin!
The end look;Â Besides the mermaid inspired eye makeup and nude lips, I stuck on pearl detailing to the side of my face for a more glam mermaid feel. To blend it in, I softly brushed on silver eyeshadow; Â
The whole look worked perfectly with the jewelry;Â
Since I do my shopping on the site once a month, it seemed only fair that I share this information once again;

Lord Ganesha is probably one of the best-known and worshipped Hindu gods. Others may know him as the elephant god as Ganesha has an elephant’s head. Being the remover of obstacles, I’ve always had a personal liking to Ganesha especially since my mom would make an effort to make a stop at the Ganesha temple every morning before going to work, or my dad would always drive past the temple to pray in whenever he left the house. Ganesha has always been a favourite in my household, and that rubbed off on me.
I’m probably not the most religious person, but I believe that my prayers and thoughts on it are between me and god. This however is a completely different story all together. Coming back to Ganesha, I’ve made dreamcatchers incorporating him in them and the response has been overwhelming. I take this as a sign of blessing;I love how I was able to incorporate something that was significant to my life and learn that it was equally as significant to others. The first one I made was completely by chance (exactly how most of my designs come to life) and I am so happy to have had this idea come to me.

Today is Vinayagar Chaturthi, the Hindu festival to celebrate the god Ganesha; remover of obstacles, of new beginnings and wisdom.
& as tradition would have it, I create dreamcatchers with different themes and ideas, incorporating elements of each festival. This time I decided I would make one to get blessed for me.
Wishing all of you a blessed day & may all your obstacles be removed. Sending you love and light.

When Deeper Than Fashion first started, it was known as Rainbow’s Doodles. I started off wanting to merely sell some of my handmade creations to raise money for concert tickets my parents didn’t want to fork out for. I’ll forever be grateful they didn’t. I never in my dreams expected it to turn out into what it is today and I can proudly say, all my hard work and dedication to my craft continues to pay off on a daily. Every day I wake up feeling blessed to be able to do what I love.
Taking a walk down memory lane, I can’t believe when I first started, these were my first few pieces;
Perler beads or as I like to call them, Pixellettes (because they were pixelated, how incredibly clever of me :3). As creativity would have it, I embarked on a journey of learning new skill sets with brand new ideas and materials.
Being a fashion student, I always had buttons lying around. I began to use those to create wearable art. Also, I had a fantastic time experimenting with tassels & fringe jewelry;
After which, I finally found my love for feathers. Lightweight, flowy and free, I created so many designs I’ve lost count. Here are a few of my personal favourites;
Slowly I learnt new tricks with feathers, and I started painting on them;
However my most prized and favourite creations will always be… you guessed it, my dreamcatchers;
All the wonderful themes I created, all the magic these little pieces of jewelry provided, I can’t even explain how much joy its been to be able to go on this creative journey. The best part, creativity and ideas don’t run out. You can only evolve and become better. I truly believe I have improved over the years & promise to do so in years to come.
& I for one, am excited about it all 🙂 Thank you for being a part of my journey and growth. Here’s to a lifetime of art, happiness, love and dreams.

Walt Disney once said “If you can dream it, you can do it” & that applies perfectly to my creations.
Being a Disney kid myself, I had to come up with a tribute collection to all the dreams contributed & magic Disney brought to my childhood (and adulthood too!). You are never too old for Disney. Ever. *sprinkles magic fairy dust*
This necklace is a grown up way to add a little magic to any outfit. Not only does it give you the key to unlock your dreams, you also have a magic wand just incase 😉
What better way to add to the tribute than with a tribute to each movie? Beauty & the Beast , The Little Mermaid, Alladin & Frozen. Definitely more to come.

Incorporating dreamcatchers into anything and everything possible has become a norm to me, especially in terms of accessories. After several requests, I’ve come up with two types of dreamcatcher bracelets. Easy to match and be worn day or night, these dreamcatchers don’t just protect you from nightmares but also negative energy and bad vibes.
The Dreamcatcher -Line of Dreams- Bracelet;
Tiny dreamcatchers connected by flower designed links. Focusing mainly on minimalistic designs and the authenticity of the traditional weaving, while infusing contemporary colour combinations.
Single Dreamcatcher Bracelet;Single dainty dreamcatcher, with intricate weaving and contrasting bead in the center. Linked with bronze chains, and closed using lobster clasps. A single bronze feather charm attached at the clasp ends once measurement it given.
