As I sit here reflecting how this year (like every other year) has been a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, the good and the bad, & I feel nothing but absolutely blessed to be living the life that I do. Mostly, I’m grateful to be given another year to live, to change, to grow and to learn 🙂
This year I messed up a lot, went through heartbreak, learnt to let go and cut ties with people who weren’t good for me, and went through several phases of wanting to run away from it all.
This year I also learnt to take a chance and trust someone out of whim with no regrets, live spontaneously (for those who know me and what a control freak I am when it comes to planning and time, this is major!), grew more with Deeper Than Fashion and acknowledged my accomplishments, take better care of my health and eating, to be more confident with the choices I make, to be certain about my intelligence, views and opinions & how to express them.
This year I have no resolutions, except this simple one I found online that I’d love to try. I’m going to start a 365 Grateful Project. The idea is to basically take a picture of something everyday that you’re grateful for. The mindset behind this is to look for the good things that happen and also, when you have a rough day to be able to go through it and remind yourself that life isn’t all that bad. Most importantly, learnt to be okay with not being okay.
Neil Gaiman took the words right out of my mouth;
” May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books, and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art – write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.”
Here’s to a fresh new start and adventures ahead.
Have a wonderful year ahead!
xoxo
